Specifications of Monroe Shock Absorbers

Since 1916, Monroe Shocks has been popular in manufacturing tire pumps and marketing automobile parts. It is branded well for automobile shock absorbers. Later in 1926, Monroe has decided to manufacture first shock absorber that coincided with the decision of gas stations to give away air. Monroe continues with the automobile and heavy-duty vehicle owners to supply, who desire a comfortable ride.

Importance of Monroe shocks absorber reveals well when it is used in automobiles. They provide them a smooth ride, thus controlling the friction. Specifically, the bore size could be a reason. Defined as the width of the piston and pressure tube within a shock absorber, heavy bore size generally results in a smoother ride because of the voluminous area for piston displacement when the piston goes up and down.

Within a shock absorber, the piston rod moves the piston up and down. The Monroe Sensa-Trac's piston rod is half inch in diameter. The Gas-Magnum 70 shows an increase to three fourth inches for its piston rod.

The piston and piston rod are contained along with the shock absorber. A reserve tube which is exterior to pressure tube holds the excess hydraulic fluid. An example is the Gas-Magnum 70 commercial vehicle shock absorber with a two-third inch reserve tube.
